Stephen Wagoner bio
I was born in Winston-Salem and moved to Dunn NC at 9 months old because my father was called to pastor a church plant in Dunn, NC. Growing up in a pastors home I continually learned about Jesus, bible stories, and how to be a good person. I knew about Jesus at a early age but it wasn't until my freshman year in college that God open my blind eyes to the Gospel of Christ. While reading the book of Romans on my dorm bed, Christ made himself known to me and I could not resist his drawing. Immediately got out of my bed and knew that i needed to follow God in the one way that he had established how he would work in the world, through his Church. About that same time I met my soon-to-be wife. 10 years and four kids later she is still the most wonderful, beautiful, sacrificial woman i have ever seen. During my junior year of college God set my heart toward church planting, and my senior year toward planting a missional/gospel centered/cell church in the Triad of NC.
My prayer for 1.21Church is that we would have our identity wrapped around the Person and Work of Jesus. That we would be gospel missionaries in our mission fields (neighborhoods, work, homes, bar). We desire that our church be a sending church to make disciples among the nations through church planting. 1.21 has a bright future because we have a glorious God.
