Simply put, 1.21 Church is not a member of a denomination
because there’s no biblical precedent for church
denominations. Denominations are extra-biblical
organizations that we find unnecessarily confuse people in
the community. So in our attempt to focus on Jesus, his
resurrection, and his church, we stay away from
denominational government. We are a theologically driven
church, which means that everything we do is filtered
through Scripture (the Bible). Therefore, we are intentional about
making sure of the theological correctness of every word
said, whether sung, spoken, or lived out. We find that
denominational membership is unnecessary for worshiping and
following Jesus. To learn more about what we believe at 1.21
Church, check out 1.21 Theology.

1.21 Church belongs to the Acts 29 Network. Acts 29 is a
non- and cross-denomational organization with the sole
purpose of planting theologically-driven, culturally
relevant churches in the US and abroad. Acts 29 does not
function as a denominational government; it merely provides
its member churches with resources and training. God is
significantly using our network to influence and shape the
church planting culture through both rock-solid theology and
contextualizing the gospel. We do not waver on either of
these commitments. We don’t water down our theology to reach
more people, and we won’t attack the culture in the name of
Christianity. We are planting churches that are missionaries
in their respective communities sent by Christ with the
gospel (see
John 20:211).
It is our desire at Acts 29 to plant 1,000
new churches in the next 20 years. For more information,
please visit the
Acts
29 website.
