You park downtown and enter Foothills Brewing a few minutes before 9:30. People are milling about, talking, and finding their seat. Everyone is dressed pretty normally. At 9:30, the service starts, usually with some music and prayer and scripture reading. You stand with everyone else and sing new and old songs about Jesus, reading the words off the screen. The music doesn't seem much like "church music", but the songs are all about Jesus and who he is. Next everyone takes their seats and the lead pastor, Will, preaches from the Bible. He's not wearing a suit - in fact, he's wearing jeans - and he preaches straight from the Bible, making it applicable to your life. After the sermon, those who follow Jesus take communion together, and then everyone sings, prays, and reads scripture in response to God's Word, as you heard it in the sermon. The whole service is 70 minutes long. Afterwards, many of the people there go out and eat lunch around town to have community together and get to know one another better.



1.21 Church is a church that loves children and also loves the opportunity that we have to live in community with their families. We believe that parents have been divinely appointed to raise their children and shepherd all aspects of their personhood — and we know that this is not an easy task! So we are serious about shepherding parents in active and growing relationships with God in which they exemplify and actively show their child what it means to pursue God with their lives and fulfill their calling to build God's kingdom through the local church.

During our Sunday service, we provide a separate area for kids through age 10. It is a safe, loving, engaging place for children to be while parents participate and invest in communal worship. All of our kids volunteers have been screened, intereviewed, and trained to supervise your children. We encourage children older than 10 years old to join the worship service and actively build the church through volunteer involvement alongside those of a more mature age.
